What Is Sintered Stone?

Sintered stone is a high-performance surface material produced by compressing and firing natural minerals — including feldspar, silica, and pigments — under extreme heat and pressure. Unlike traditional ceramic tiles, sintered stone slabs are formed at temperatures exceeding 1,200°C, replicating the natural geological process that creates stone over thousands of years — compressed into a controlled, consistent manufacturing cycle.
The result is a large-format slab of exceptional density, uniformity, and durability — free of resins, binders, or artificial additives. This makes sintered stone one of the most technically advanced surface materials available for architecture, interior design, and high-end residential applications.

How Is Sintered Stone Made?

Every sintered stone slab produced at Lithatec begins long before the kiln fires. The manufacturing of sintered stone is a precise, technology-driven process that mirrors the geological forces nature takes millions of years to complete — compressed into a controlled, repeatable industrial cycle. Unlike natural stone, which is quarried with inherent inconsistencies, or engineered quartz, which relies on resins and binders to hold material together, sintered stone is formed entirely from natural inorganic minerals through heat and pressure alone.

No additives. No synthetic binders. No compromise.

Raw Material Selection: Only high-purity natural minerals — feldspar, quartz, kaolin — sourced to strict standards.
Digital Ink-Jet Printing: Advanced HD printing technology reproduces natural textures with photographic precision, across marble, wood, concrete, and stone patterns.
Ultra-High Pressure Forming: Slabs are formed under pressures exceeding 40,000 tonnes, achieving maximum density without air voids or weak points.
High-Temperature Sintering: Fired above 1,200°C in continuous tunnel kilns, locking in strength, color stability, and resistance properties.
Precision Surface Finishing: Automated polishing, brushing, and texturing lines deliver consistent surface profiles across every slab.
Quality Inspection & Packaging: Each slab passes calibration, flatness, and visual inspection before export-grade packaging.
